July Writing Prompts

The greatest writers in history did not become great because they were inherently brilliant; they deliberately practiced the skills they wanted to develop and improve on a daily basis. At The Literary Tutor, we strongly believe that daily practice leads to mastery. In other words, if you want to be great at writing, you must write every day.

July Prompts

Writing every day will improve your sentence structure, enhance your vocabulary, and make you more aware of your grammar usage and spelling habits. This daily practice also gives you the opportunity to expand your creativity and freely experiment with your writing style. Throughout the year, you will witness a transformation in your writing by simply dedicating 10-15 minutes of purposeful writing every day.

For July’s daily writing prompts, we encourage you to make an action plan for the summer so you can make the most out of your time away from school. There are many fun events and festivals you can attend in your own city, and there are many unexplored places you can visit and enjoy.

For the month of May, let’s celebrate Canada’s diversity by exploring the colorful customs and traditions of other cultures. May’s warmer days should also give you plenty of opportunities to visit and support your local museum, where you will find a wealth of information about the people who helped shape Canada’s culture.

We at The Literary Tutor proudly support global wildlife conservation efforts, so May’s writing prompts also encourage you to learn about and support the worldwide effort to save and protect endangered animals, because animals too play an important part in human history.

Write Amazing Short Stories with Kurt Vonnegut

American novelist, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. (November 11, 1922 – April 11, 2007), was a warm and witty tour guide of alternate universes. Part science-fiction, satire, and comedy, his stories encourage readers to laugh at the meaninglessness of an earthling’s life, while urging them to use this very pessimism to supplement and nurture a kinder and gentler heart.

Write Amazing Short Stories with Kurt Vonnegut

In the 50 years of his literary career, Vonnegut published fourteen fiction novels, three short-story collections, five non-fiction works, and five plays.
